Waste not, want not

One of the byproducts of being crafty is – in my case – lots of fabric and felt scraps. At last count, I had three big tubs of fabric scraps that are big enough to do something with – I keep telling myself this is for when I’m grown up and start quilting. I’ve also got quite a lot of scraps that really are just scraps – to be precise, five ice-cream tubs, two shoeboxes and a big bag full of them. The reason I’ve been saving them is to make an ottoman like this Amy Butler one (although I think I’ll modify the pattern to make an internal pillow in calico filled with the scraps, and an external cover that can be washed). Don’t think it will get made for a little while yet given my current time-consuming stamp cushions project, but when I’m done there’ll be even more filling to make a really big one!
