Sweet and nostalgic Japanese designs

While I’ve been holed up at home recently with a horrible flu virus, I’ve been burying my head in crafty books. One of my new favourites is Modern Patterns of Japan: Sweet and Nostalgic, which is about a lady who takes old designs from paper and kimono fabric and uses elements of them to make designs for stationery and paper. There are some really cute images in the book – here are a few. I think it will definitely lend itself to some new cushion designs or maybe even a skirt… hmmm.
