Every girl should have one

In the spirit of New Year’s resolutions and all that, I thought I’d share a gorgeous 1950s book I recently bought for a little girl I know who’s just turned one – this Little Golden Book extols the virtue of using your imagination to be whatever you want to be. Originally published in 1951, it’s full of really wonderful illustrations by Mary Blair.

The back page has a delightful little song based on the same sentiment. Cute!
