A hint of the Orient

From time to time I come across a really striking piece of vintage barkcloth with a design that’s a crossover between British and Asian style – it’s even more unusual to find such a piece on a black backing so I was quite excited to come across this one featuring an ornamental rickshaw and bouquet. I think I’ve got just enough to make three pairs of cushions plus maybe one extra. Here’s the first pair.

For the backing I’ve matched the red of the rickshaw and used plain black buttons.
