The perfect dress

I’m a great believer in the ‘perfect dress’ – and that if you find a pattern that really suits you, you can get away with making a few different versions. For the past few years, the perfect summer shift dress for me has been Vogue 9237… and I always get compliments when I wear one of them (especially the turquoise and orange mod bird version that’s become a summer staple), so that’s a bonus! I haven’t made anything for myself for quite a while, so I’ve started cutting out some linen from my stash to replace one of my Vogue 9237s that really has seen better days. The point of difference for this one is going to be some cute spotty binding and an over-sized front pocket – or that’s the plan, anyway! What’s your perfect dress?
