Weighing up the options

I’ve been in the market for some cheap digital kitchen scales so that I can weigh cushion covers for posting – using my vintage Persinware scales that only measure to the nearest two ounces and then doing the conversion has been a bit tricky. But ‘cheap’ and ‘digital kitchen scales’ don’t seem to be compatible terms. Today I thought I’d try my luck at the department store sales. You know it’s a good day when the largest, most cost-effective kitchen scales with the longest guarantee also double as a clock and are heavily reduced – and have apples on them! I could have bought a matching biscuit tin, but somehow I don’t think I could claim that on tax…
