Just for fun

Every year for the last seven, my friend Matt of The Outpost store in Brisbane has curated an art exhibition called I Used To Skate Once. This year’s IUTSO8 show is on at The Zoo in Fortitude Valley this Thursday 21 June from 7pm. The boards will then hang in The Outpost for the following month.

My contribution isn’t on the scale of the outrageously time-consuming Bluebirds of Happiness embroidered skateboard I made for a previous show (life got in the way this time) and it actually doesn’t even involve a skateboard deck. I’ve taken a bit more of a pop art approach and made a larger-than-life felt skateboard cushion instead – just for fun!

I’ll show you the other side later in the week…
