Saturday Special: Pictorial Review 9308

Another magnificent pattern from the lovely Zena this week… Delving into the Vintage Fashion Library and Vintage Pattern Wiki resources, I’ve learnt that Pictorial Review Printed Patterns were issued from the 1920s to the 1940s. And judging from the style and the price of this one, it may be from the late 1930s or early 1940s. Regardless, it’s just gorgeous – imagine how beautifully it would hang in a silk or crepe fabric!

If I find out any more about this pattern, I’ll update this post.

Hi! I found your post on the Etsy Pattern Collectors page and instantly fell in love with this pattern! The design is so timeless it’s difficult to date. However, I checked my Pictorial Pattern book from 1937/38 and it wasn’t included. The pattern numbers didn’t pass 9050 so assuming they’re numbered consecutively, it would most likely be from 1939-1940. Thanks for sharing this picture with all of us. If you ever decide to sell it, please let me know. Pictorial patterns are my favorite to sew for myself 🙂
