Here comes the sun

The sun returned yesterday and we watched the Brisbane river flood to the tune of a steamy 33 degrees. These photos show the Brisbane CBD around the time of the flood peak at midday.

Luckily the river peak was lower than expected, so while it was a very bad day for some, many people were spared having to face the dreadful prospect of cleaning up after the second major flood in two years – unlike folks to the south of Brisbane and also along the central Queensland coast, who are still caught up in record flooding from the same weather event.

If you want to know how to help, check out the Red Cross Flood Appeal page.

With the sun out, we finally got that back door open… so here’s the first of the cushion pics from last weekend’s sewing spree. These ones are now in my Etsy shop.
