Saturday Special: Vogue 8174

I’m a lucky, lucky lady! Last week my lovely friend Mel gave me her great aunt’s sewing pattern collection – a seamstress from way back, her great aunt passed away recently, and I’m sure she would be happy in the knowledge that her patterns were going a good home rather than being thrown out. Thanks Mel!

There are some absolute stunners in the collection, including this 1953 Vogue pattern. That collar gives it a touch of glamour, which I think this dress would retain even if it was made in a summer-weight cotton fabric. Gorgeous!

Awww thanks Eileen! Auntie Alice would be so proud to see her patterns go to such a loving and appreciative home. She would also be ‘real chuffed’ to see them showcased here. Thanks for bringing a bit of sunshine to this sad time for us. Mel x

The least I can do is show off all these beautiful patterns! You’re so generous to send them my way! Can’t wait until I can make some time to actually sew some of them too…
