Saturday Special: Fashion Patterns 7812

If I was a lady of leisure, I’d swan about the house in a housecoat that would look something like this! This one is more of a traditional ‘car coat’, but I think it would do the trick… It would be very simple to make, the three-quarter sleeves wouldn’t get in the way when I was pottering around making things and it does have a nice hang, don’t you think?

Definitely !! This coat reminds me of when my mother made a coat to match EVERY dress she had. She would not be caught dead in town “not dressed”! That included stockings, gloves, hat, & matching purse. Never in slacks, jeans, and NEVER in shorts! LOL…She is still horrified whenever she sees a young woman in Dorm pants, or worse- short shorts! She has relaxed her standards in dressing, but not to the extent of PJs in public :).

Anyway- this looks like a very nice possibility for a robe. I’ve also seen a no sew design from JoAnnes fabrics- it was on one of the little tear-off sheets for Polar fleece. You might check their site if that is a reasonable thought for you. 🙂 Enjoy
