Skateboard in progress

With the clock racing on my skateboard art project, I can report that I’m making some progress… Given the now very short window in which I have to complete it, I’ve decided to incorporate more applique and less embroidery (a necessary evil I’m afraid) but hopefully that will give the whole piece more of a 1960s/1970s family craft book aesthetic.

It’s also meant that I’ve dug into my boxes of fabric scraps from my childhood (and from before my time too) for some suitable fabrics from that era – my favourite is the daisy fabric that’s made its way onto the girl’s outfit. Let’s see what transpires next!
