Saturday Special: Weigel’s 2240

This week’s pattern pick is a 1960s girl’s blouse from Polish-born Australian pattern designer Johanna Weigel’s fashion business. As the story goes, she worked as a pattern designer for McCall’s in the US before honeymooning in Melbourne and deciding to stay on. She and her husband then began a monthly subscription journal and pattern-making business. The company continued for another two decades after her death in 1940.
