An extra special treat
It doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes I come across some amazing vintage fabric that’s hard to bring myself to cut. This 1950s barkcloth depicting a park scene is one such fabric…
So instead of making my standard 20-inch size cushions – which would have meant cutting this lovely scene in half – I had some extra large cushion inserts custom made and transformed it into two very large floor cushions backed in bright red canvas.
If you want to have a look at these in person, I’ll be taking them along to the QAGOMA Christmas Design Market next Saturday.
My favourite part of the design is this little man in his rowboat on a pond with fish and geese. Very Olle Eksell.
