I just count the wings

Regular readers have probably picked up that the late great Charley Harper is one of my favourite illustrators. I love the minimalism of his work, which he best described in this quote: “I’ve never counted the feathers in the wings, for that is not what my pictures are about. I just count the wings.”

With the blessing of the Charley Harper Estate, the Gold Leaf Design Group has reproduced a few of his classic birds as sculptures, handcrafted in felt and wood. Here’s both versions of the burrowing owl. Very special!
