I managed to sneak in a little road trip this week with my friend Yolanda… On our annual show holiday on Wednesday we headed north to the seaside town of Redcliffe to scour the second hand shops for special vintage finds and enjoy a devonshire tea at the British Tea Rooms, a tiny cafe tucked away in an arcade off the main esplanade.
We didn’t have too much luck in the Australiana teatowel department, but it was ever so lovely to be by the bay – the ocean was shimmering like crumpled alfoil and the wind was whipping up all sorts of interesting cloud formations.
On the way home we stopped at Brighton to admire about 30 kite surfers who were taking advantage of a very breezy winter’s afternoon. It’s definitely a caper for daredevils and those with above average upper body strength!
