Summer lovin’
While it is technically still the first month of Spring here, our weather has taken a distinctly summery turn this week – which got me thinking about summer cushions! These Hawaiian girls ones are now back in stock in the Touch Wood Design Etsy store.
Splash into summer
Since it will be summer in a few short weeks, I’ve made up some more Hawaiian girls cushions – in black this time – for Absolutely Fabulous. I can’t believe that beautiful cane lounge in the black ticking fabric is still in the shop, but it made for a great backdrop for my Hawaiian girls, don’t you think?
I also dropped off some more atomic cushions with black spotty piping today, so if you missed out on the pair that sold yesterday, you’re in luck.
Do a little dance
The shop where I sell my cushions (Absolutely Fabulous) is getting heaps of cane furniture in for summer, so in keeping with this theme I made up some cute fringed Hawaiian girls cushions. I’m loving that black ticking fabric on the chairs! If only I had room for more furniture…
A long lost package
As if U2 Week couldn’t get any better, I arrived home on the day of the first concert to find a package in the mail that I thought had long since been lost. Lucky for me, this gorgeous fabric finally arrivedĀ – it was posted from Canada way back in September! – so now I have the black colourway of the Aloha Girls as well as the turquoise. I’m sure these beauties will be adorning some cushions very soon…
Say ‘Aloha!’
The Scandi cushions are all finished now – hooray! – and I can get back to sewing fabric rather than felt. Here’s a picture of some Aloha Girls cushions I made this week. They’re so fun!
Happy hula girls
Everybody needs a little something to make them cheery – like these happy hula girls! I think I like this cushion design better with yellow fringe… It’s not quite as intense as it looks with orange fringe. These cushion covers will be joining my Easter holiday batch at a Mother’s Day market coming up at Warrigal State School in Brisbane on Friday 7 May. More details soon.
Hawaiian gals
I don’t think I’ll ever tire of this Hawaiian print (although the fabric is getting quite hard to source now) and the black colourway has a completely different feel from the white one (that I made into these cushions) – especially teamed with this bright orange vintage trim! If you like them, you’ll find them at Absolutely Fabulous.
Hawaiian is the new black
I’m excited because I’ve received a package in the mail with this fun Hawaiian girls fabric! It’s the black colourway of the fabric I made into these cushions. One hot afternoon drive to my out-of-town getaway for vintage trims and I’m now ready to get sewing. Look out soon for black Hawaiian girls cushions with startlingly orange fringe!
