Vintage fabric find: Yellow roses barkcloth

I found this vintage yellow roses barkcloth at my friend Collette’s garage sale at her vintage furniture store Rewind Mid Century last weekend. There’s just enough to make one pair of cushions. I might see what it looks like with bright yellow backing fabric – what do you think?

Mr A and I came across this Christmassy flame tree on the way to our friend Colette’s furniture shop Rewind Mid-Century the other day.

I’d always thought their redness came from little berries, but on closer examination they’re actually little buds waiting to pop open. Magnificent! Hmmm… there has to be a project in that somewhere! Maybe in the new year…
